OVERVIEW:

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Clearing Agent Route Controller in clearing industry.
- ASYCUDA World experience is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of import and export clearing procedures.
- Experience in general cargo logistics and freight forwarding operations.
- Knowledge of customs procedures, shipping lines, and port operations.
- Exposure to controlled goods handling (advantageous).
- Experience with bond and acquittal processes.
- Ability to interpret shipment requirements and execute end-to-end logistics planning.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Receive, verify and process shipment instructions.
- Check all received documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with customs and operational requirements.
- Plan and coordinate sea freight and airfreight shipments.
- Manage import and export and cross border documentation in line with customs and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with customs, port authorities, shipping lines, and related stakeholders.
- Apply tariff structures and accurately calculate shipment costs.
- Handle cartage and transport coordination.
- Manage controlled goods procedures, including perishable and dangerous goods.
- Coordinate routing and shipment movement across local and international networks.
- Liaise with third-party inspection authorities.
- Manage bond processes and customs acquittals.
- Prepare and/or frame customs entries.
- Ensure accurate costing and client invoicing.
- Track cargo from origin to final delivery or arrival point.
